Plateau State Government About NYSC Corps
Plateau opens orientation camp for 1,500 NYSC members
Governor
Jonah Jang of Plateau State yesterday declared open orientation course
for 1,500 members of the National Youth Service Corps Batch A, with an
expression of support for the scheme.
Addressing the 850 male and 650
female corps members, Jang said, “We congratulate you for successfully
finishing your tertiary education and deployment here for your national
service. The government is committed to the success of the scheme and
your safety and welfare throughout your stay in the state.”
Represented by Plateau State
Commissioner for Youth Development, Bako Lohfa, Jang urged the youth
corps members to make the best of their service year.
“I enjoin you to learn a few things
about the customs, norms and traditions of your host communities on the
Plateau. This will no doubt help to facilitate better understanding and
respect for the values necessary for mutual co-existence,” he said.
Earlier, Plateau State Coordinator of
the NYSC, Yusuf Steven Ehoda-Adi, said the scheme has provided a
veritable platform for national unity and service.
